Dreams Come True-2

First, I may say "some" dreams come true. After the BS, I was eager to begin a Master's degree immediately. It took three years to make this dream come true the way I wish it would. So, second, some dreams come true when "the right time comes". Life has its own pace.

Three years after graduation, I ended up doing my MA in Developmental Psychology at Bilkent University. That was a surprise and a sharp turning point since I was determined to study clinical psychology and very interested in psychoanalysis. Although it is not the era I wish to live in one more time for some reasons (:)), it made me make the right decision. I like what I do now and for the future plans that I took the first step last year. Bilkent was not my main aim initially. It became a good alternative in the process. But, it gave me even better than what I have been dreaming of, very proud of being a part of here :).

Moving onward is important, but it shouldn't sound like it is a must all the time; resting in need, slowing downs and ups in speed all have their own importance in life. I believe dreams help us take a step forward, regardless of their pace. They give us the strength to strive or at least try for what we want to pursue. Each try somehow includes a piece of hope, which is sth precious about feeling alive. And the pivotal thing in this journey is to remember not to be harsh on yourself. Value for each step you take. Let's finalise the writing with a quote from the book I read:

"If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps moving; you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream." Martin Luther King, Jr., The Trumpet of Conscience (1968) (Maholmes, 2014, p.173)*

Diligence • Resilience • Patience • Hope • All help me to make (some) of my dreams come true. Without them, I cannot imagine a fight to reach any aim. They are my generators 🌺. Now, fingers crossed for a PhD in Europe 🤞🏻(update: see Dreams Come True-3). I do hope I'll update you here with good news (so did I :)).

Enjoy the pure beauty of the song from Beach House

Glad to see you here & see you in the next post! ⭐️
