Dreams Come True-1
30/5/18
Izmir/Turkiye
Once upon a time, to be exact, in 2018, my ex-boyfriend and I were hanging out at my fav place, Ikea 💛💙, in Izmir. Having had dinner, we passed by the food market. I bought a candle box full of cookies. As a romantic person, no chance to help your candle love :p. The surface design of the box was illustrated with Nyhavn’s beautiful buildings. When I saw Copenhagen writing there, I commented, "I do really want to go to Denmark one day," with a childish traveller’s excitement and longing. He responded, "North countries are too expensive to travel to." Years later, life made me end up living in Denmark for one year, let alone just travelling there, lol. It was not pure joy but a challenging experience. I was working with disadvantaged children in a special school there. That’s another story.
I went to Copenhagen a couple of times that year. The first time I arrived in Copenhagen and then went to Nyhavn, I admired what life could bring us. Kind of a miracle... I find it that way. I had a lovely evening with my friends in one of the buildings (those pictured on my candle box's surface :)).. another time, I had a pleasant walk near the river on a sunny day with other friends. My dream turned into sweet memories. I like to be amused by the surprises of life. So you never know what will happen, cliché, don't count anything is impossible. There is somehow a chance out there, ever. Stick to it to make your life light up. Even though it sometimes does not finalise as you wish, having hope inside is something good in life anyway.
I have been dreaming of other things to do and places to go right now. Fingers crossed for those to come true, too. As related to all I have said, I'd like to share Chris Martin's speech with you.
PS Thanks a bunch to Melek Hoca for the edit.
Hi Gökçe,
ReplyDeleteI haven't been following the blog for a while. When I miss you, I wanted to hear your voice (writing) again. I know you're obsessed with Ikea and candles lol xoxo.
I am sure it is among the dreams of many people to see that little house in real. Glad you made this dream come true. Cheers to the rebel souls who strive to make their dreams come true...
Dear Eylem, I love your comments to this blog! They always make me feel good. My obsessions still remain FYI :p. Rebel souls deserve the best.
DeleteWarm greetings my dear friend..
